Town Board Chairman Tie Breaker

The election officials and town clerk met with Bob Dries and Jesse Gilbertson's wife Maureen and son, Craig at the CCC at 6:30 tonight for the tie breaker. As per state statues it is based on a drawing. We used high card from a deck of cards (a method that is commonly used). Jesse Gilbertson is the winner. Either candidate now has up to three business days to ask for a recount of the ballots.

Town Board Election Results

The race for town chairman is a tie. Jesse Gilbertson & Bob Dries each received 66 votes, Michael Langer 1. Town Supervisor results are as follows: Paul Cummings 85, Gerald Brennum 75, David Price 59, and David Bowen 34. Town Clerk: Linda Kane 128, John Ingham 1. Town Treasurer: Lana Bowers 130. The Town Clerk has a call into the County Treasurer for information on how to proceed with tie for chairman.

Participate in a survey regarding broadband in rural Wisconsin!

The Public Service Commission has made available on its Website a brief survey on broadband availability in Wisconsin. The PSC is gathering information that may ultimately be useful in addressing where there are unserved or underserved areas in the state. This fact finding is related to the $7.2 billion in federal broadband funding that is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Much of the federal funding is targeted at unserved and underserved areas.
